A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Content warnings: depiction of depressive thoughts.

This game depicts one element of my experience being depressed. Everybody who experiences depression experiences it differently. This game is representative of one of my experiences. Maybe you'll relate to it, but maybe you won't, and either way is fine. Both our experiences are valid, whether or not they look anything alike.

Click on what you want to do. Press space to start the game, and press space to end the game. You choose when to end the game, and you may choose to do so at any time to hear the nice song at the end.

Think of ending the game as turning off your notifications and listening to music for a while before you get back up.

You can press ESC or Q to quit the game entirely at any time, as well. The game is best played with sound. I prefer it with headphones in. That's up to you, though.

Please play the game with a screen resolution of 1280x720. You can play it windowed, or not. I prefer it not windowed.

This was a short game made for an assignment in college in 2017.

The song at the end is by wonderful bedroom pop band Adult Mom and is used with their permission.

Here are some songs that help me get out of bed and respond to emails when I'm not feeling up to it:

ps, a few people have asked: canvas is an educational website that my university used. it lets you know if there's a new assignment, grade, course announcement, etc

Self-expression like this is really powerful. But god, what a terrifying visage of being overwhelmed and exhausted by keeping up with life and social interactions.
